Letter dated 16 September to the National Planning Commission (addressed to Mr Trevor Manuel) from key civil society organisations (SAFCEI,,  Project 90 by 2030, WWF,  Greenpeace Africa,  BirdLife South Africa, Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa).

The letter was copied to the Honourable President Jacob Zuma and the Members of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on energy. The letter stressed the need for integrated planning with regards to the Renewable Energy White Paper, South Africa’s Climate Change Response and the Integrated Energy Plan and asked the National Planning Commission to help define the South African we seek to achieve and to participate in the relevant decision-making:  Signon_letter_NPC_16Sept2010_Final
