Fwd: FW: People & Planet – flight-free course in Pretoria 16-18 March 2020 with Sida, UNEP, SIWI & the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency

Dear all,

Please find attached information about a course that Sida and partners are organising.

The aim of the course is to deepen participants’ knowledge and understanding of the nexus of environment/climate and faith (should be of interest to SAFCEI colleagues). By moving from business as usual to actually making a difference, the global learning experience also serves to facilitate for new innovative local, regional and global partnerships, to enable the mobilisation of faith resources and collective action for a more sustainable planet.

Maybe you can circulate it amongst your networks and bring it to the attention of the deserving candidates.

Kind regards,

Subject: People & Planet – flight-free course in Pretoria 16-18 March 2020 with Sida, UNEP, SIWI & the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency

Dear Sheela and Prabhat,

I mentioned the upcoming Sida course here in Pretoria. Please find more information below and attached and do not hesitate to forward it to candidates that might be interested in participating. The last day to register is the 16th of February.

Sida will together with UNEP, SIWI and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency arrange a course called People & Planet the 16-18 of March – a unique, global, flight-free course focusing on building capacity for new innovative partnerships with indigenous groups, cultural leaders and religious actors in the promotion of biodiversity and resilience.

The course will be conducted at six different Learning Hubs, of which Pretoria will host one of these. To minimize the climate footprint of the course, People and Planet is flight-free. Through digital solutions, networking and policy dialogue will be conducted between participants in different time zones, in different Learning Hubs. By focusing both globally and locally, dialogue is also possible with a focus on the specific country context and the implementation of Agenda 2030 at the country level.
