THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSION INVITES YOU TO THE WEBINAR:

 

“HAS COVID AFFECTED UK AMBITIONS FOR THE DELAYED COP 26, PARTICULARLY ON KEY PRIORITIES FOR SOUTH AFRICA?”

 

The British High Commission, with the support of WWF-SA and the South African Climate Action Network, invites you to the first of a series of webinars designed to explore UK and South African thinking on key issues linked to climate action, COP 26 and  clean and resilient growth.

Join us on this webinar as we kick-off the series with a chance to engage with the UK’s COP 26 Africa Envoy, Paul Arkwright. In this webinar Paul will highlight the need to maintain momentum for COP 26, clarify UK priorities for COP 26 (particularly those most relevant to South Africa) and share what impact COVID 19 has had on UK plans. He will underline the importance we attach to South Africa, both bilaterally and internationally, ensure  that he hears and reacts to local and regional concerns as we try an achieve an inclusive outcome.

Paul was the British High Commissioner to Nigeria from September 2015 until November 2018. He joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1986 and served in a variety of roles in London and abroad. He is currently a regional ambassador for sub-Saharan Africa and the COP 26 Africa Envoy.
