Report violations of environmental rights to the 24-hour Environmental Crimes & Incidents Hotline on 0800 205 005. More reports of environmental violations assist in justifying more investment in more inspectors, and more enforcement of environmental laws. Numbers matter! Take the time to report violations, even if you have done so elsewhere. For more information about this CER campaign, visit http://cer.org.za/news/numbers-matter-join-us-in-reporting-violations-of-environmental-rights.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the expert panel on “Border Carbon Adjustments: Issues, Options, and Impacts” on March 4 at 3pm CET, organized by the Permanent Mission of Canada to the WTO. This will be an interesting event for our BCA community, where the main audience of the event will be WTO negotiators and being the first event organized in this context.

Andrei Marcu, Executive Director of ERCST and Aaron Cosbey, Senior Advisor at ERCST, who are working on the CBAM will be part of the panel.

Business Report 1 July 2012. Optimal Energy chief executive Kobus Meiring is a disappointed man. The company is the developer of South Africa’s electric car but it officially closed on Friday with the loss of about 60 jobs. This follows its failure to get further funding from the government and the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC)... http://www.iol.co.za/business/business-news/why-sa-s-electric-car-is-not-going-anywhere-1.1331580#.T_E37xcjGq8
