Washington – This year is on track to be the warmest year on record.
For January through August, 2010 is tied with 1998 as the hottest year, according to US government climate statistics released on Wednesday.
The world’s average temperature for the first eight months of this year was 14.7 degrees Celsius.
And a separate report shows that Arctic sea ice has reached its third lowest amount on record as warming temperatures continue to cause melting. – Sapa-AP
