This will be interesting – if Eskom, backed by the government, doesn’t build the proposed new nuclear power stations, then who will? IPPs, a new State Entity?
Whoever or whatever it is, I’ll bet the our government lands up holding the can and that means us!
It would also be good if the nuclear projects are made to go through the same processes that renewable energy projects do (competitive bidding on costs, financial strength of the builder and operator, EIAs, job creation ability, localisation).
