The Department of Energy is developing an Integrated Resource Plan (IRP 2) to meet long term electricity needs in South Africa. The plan is now in an advanced stage and a draft Electricity Plan (IRP2010) has been released for public comment.
Idasa, WWF-SA, Groundwork, Green Connection, SAFCEI, and ERC are collaborating to host a series of roundtables with civil society to discuss the draft outcomes of the IRP 2 modelling process and its implications for all South Africans.
The aim of the roundtables will be to share information, and exchange perspectives on the draft IRP2 document released for comment.
