South Korea announced yesterday that it would provide $35 million (R241.6m) to build three solar power plants in Mozambique as part of plans to support eco-friendly projects in Africa.

The finance ministry said the loan, from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund, would be offered interest-free for 40 years, including a grace period of 15 years. The solar plants generating 400 to 500 kilowatts will be built in Niassa. – Sapa-AFP.
